José Cordeiro

José Luis trabajó en la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo Industrial (ONUDI) en Viena, Austria, y más tarde en el Center for Strategic and International Studies en Washington, EUA. Durante varios años asesoró a muchas de las mayores compañías petroleras del mundo.

Actualmente es Director del Millennium Project, Vicepresidente de HumanityPlus, Miembro de la Academia Mundial de Arte y Ciencia, Profesor fundador en Energía de Singularity University, Investigador Invitado del Institute of Developing Economies en Tokio, Japón. Participa en varias asociaciones relacionadas con el Futuro. Además es consultor independiente, escritor, investigador y “viajero incansable”.

José Luis es fundador de la Sociedad Mundial del Futuro Venezuela (SMFV), director de la Single Global Currency Association (SGCA) y de la Lifeboat Foundation, cofundador de la Asociación Transhumanista Venezolana y de la Internet Society, consejero del Center for Responsible Nanotechnology, miembro del Comité Académico del Centro para la Divulgación del Conocimiento Económico (CEDICE), de la World Future Society (WFS) y de la World Futures Studies Federation (WFSF), y de varias compañías y organismos internacionales.

- The Future of Technology and the Technology of the Future: Towards the Singularity

Change is not constant. In fact, change is accelerating very fast. Some technologies are radically changing humanity, in general, and also changing human beings, in particular. Many experts now talk about the four sciences and technologies of the future, which they refer to as NBIC: Nano-Bio-Info-Cogno. Furthermore, the NBIC fields are rapidly converging at an accelerating rate and they will help to transcend many human limitations in order to improve human lives all around the world, and beyond our tiny planet.

Humanity is fast approaching what some people call the “Singularity,” the moment when artificial intelligence will reach human intelligence levels, and then quickly overtake it. Perhaps then some humans might become transhumans and posthumans, forever changing life on Earth and the universe in a totally interconnected existence with increasing technology and greater freedom.
